Please put away your cell phone when you are diving. Effective July 1st having a cell phone in your hand is a moving violation. Illinois State Troopers initiative to reduce the number of drivers using hand held devices will commence. Be aware that the big rig pulling up beside you might very well have a Illinois State Trooper watching down in to vehicles for illegal cell phone usage.
We must put one foot in front of each other and march on keeping our eyes on the prize.

Law enforcement recently conducted many road check inspection last week. However, the possibility for Department of Transportation inspections is always there for commercial drivers.
Commercial Safety Alliance provides guidelines for road side safety inspections in an article on CSVA that outline very clear guidelines. Therefore, please take time on your pre-trip inspections.
